Here’s the issue:
We have a HP StorageWorks X1600 Network Storage Server serving iSCSI targets to both VMware Hosts and MS 2003/2008 Standard Server OS which use the MS iSCSI Initiator to mount the targets.
When we reboot either the VMware Hosts or the MS servers, the iSCSI drives will reconnect as expected.
However, if we reboot the HP Storage Server, the VMware Hosts notice the target is available again and reconnect but the MS Servers do not. I’m forced to login, open the iSCSI initiator, refresh the target to get the target to appear in the list of targets then click the Log On button, check the box to auto restore after reboots, etc to restore the iSCSI drive.
Surely, I’m just missing a setting or something to get the MS servers to automatically refresh, find the restored target and login without manual intervention, right? The VMware Hosts know when the target is back up and automount, why not the MS servers?
Thanks in advance...
