We have a lot of users that contact us, system administrators, to find out who has a file open. We then have to open 'Computer Management', connect to the server, go to 'Shared Folders', then 'Open Files' to view who has the file open. We then relay that information back to the user and are usually requested to close the open file. My question is this: How do I allow a domain user to view open files? Since we get a lot of calls regarding this topic, my hope is to have some type of interface that the user can leverage to view these files with their given permissions set (domain user). I know as a domain user they could not use computer management to connect directly to the server and view the open files. How can I accomplish this?
