I have 3 servers that I would like to do DFSR between. One server is ParentDFS.Example.local (parent domain) and the other two are in CA.Example.local (Child). I have DFSR working properly between the two child domain servers, but get various errors trying to get it working with the third server. Errors include:
From the parent domain server, when I add the DFS namespace to DFS management I get the following\\namespace\dfs: The namespace cannot be queried. The RPC server is unavailable.
From the child domain server, I was able to successfully add the parent domain server to the replication group, but had the following errors in the diagnostic report:
Cannot access the local WMI repository. Affected replicated folders: All replicated folders on this server. Description: Due to the following error, the DFS Replication reporting mechanism cannot access the WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation) namespace to retrieve certain reporting information. Error ID: 0x80041002.
and
Inconsistent configuration detected (missing object). Affected replicated folders: All replicated folders on this server. Description: The DFS Replication service detected an inconsistent msDFSR-Subscriber object while polling domain controller DC.Example.local for configuration information. The object at CN=9104da38-e5c7-4d46-a6ab-99798382258c,CN=DFSR-LocalSettings,CN=ParentDFS,OU=Servers,OU=Computers,OU=Example,OU=EX,DC=Example,DC=local references another object at CN=9104da38-e5c7-4d46-a6ab-99798382258c,CN=Topology,CN=CA.Example.local\\dfs\\acct,CN=DFSR-GlobalSettings,CN=System,DC=CA,DC=Example,DC=local that does not exist. Event ID: 6006
Parent.Example.local is also a target for Example.Local\DFS namespace.
