My DFS environment is 1 file server and 1 DFS namespace server. No replication.
1st problem:
For explanation, I'll call my file server \\server1 and my DFS namespace \\namespace.local\root. All my users have a Z: drive with their local My Documents folder redirected to their user drive via Group Policy...so all my users have a drive that looks
like "username (\\namespace.local\root\users) Z:" I have 1 user that when he access his files under \\namespace.local\root\users\username, all his files open with message saying the file is corrupt. When you click OK, the files say they can restore,
so he clicks yes and the files open properly. I tried to have him then do a Save and reopen the file and he still gets the message that the file is corrupt. I then went to \\server1\users\username and tried to open the same files and they open
successfully with NO message about corruption. I'm not really sure how to troubleshoot this nor how to fix it.
2nd problem:
I work for a bank and we recently purchased another bank. The users from that bank can't browse \\namespace.local\Root\Users but can browse all other shares in the Root folder. They get an Access Denied message when they try to double click the
Users folder. I've signed in to a workstation from one of those branches and I also get the Access Denied message. All my users that work at our existing branches can browse the Users folder with no problems. The users at the new branches
CAN get to \\server1\Users. This one really confuses me cause it sounds partially like a DFS problem and partially like a Sites issue.
Please let me know anything I can try to get either of these resolved. Thanks
