very slow DFSR initial sync

Hi,

I am in the middle of a Win2003 SP2 to Win2008 DFSR initial sync scenario. Things are working (besides the occasional staging area full message but I think this is a follow up problem). On the target server I am flodded with these:

20120810 15:39:30.251 2828 UPMG   468 UpdateWorker::ConsumeUpdates Available updates were locked. connId:{B7E262E5-DB07-44E1-BF43-991FCF1AD2ED} csName:WWV csId:{21BC0566-7B11-45CB-BCA9-A9E9FACDA7DF}

This goes on for quite some time in which the queue on the sending server is not getting smaller. Then suddenly a few hundred files get transferred and things start to be holded for another file again. I googled but could not find anything directly related to "Available updates were locked". I am about to do a backup now and try to do a prestaging. We are talking a total of 230GB and 1 GBit LAN connecting the two servers. So it should work without problems...

Any ideas?

Kind regards,

   JP
