FSMT 1.2 error: Target directory already exists

I have used FSMT in the past to migrate 20+ file servers to consolidate our company data but it has been several years since I did this. Now I am planning to perform a similar task and migrate data to another file server.

I have setup test folders on both servers (source: FS1, target: FS2) to test ahead of the production migration. I am using FSMT 1.2 and both servers are Windows 2003 SP2.

I have the following:

\\FS1\MIGRATION_TEST\
(local path: H:\TOP\GROUP\MIGRATION_TEST)

- the folder "GROUP" is shared and MIGRATION_TEST was set to shared only for migration purposes (will be disabled after migration).

\\FS2\MIGRATION_TEST
(local path: I:\TOP\GROUP_TEST\MIGRATION_TEST)

The example folder I:\TOP\GROUP_TEST\ is already created on the target folder as I only want to migrate the folder "MIGRATION_TEST" at this time. There are many other folders under "GROUP" on the source server that will migrated according to a decided schedule.

The problem I am experiencing is that when I attempt to validate the settings I get the below error: "Target directory I:\TOP\GROUP_TEST already exists"

It would seem that FSMT is complaining that I already have these folders created and it wants to create them, which I understand. But the problem here is that I am not asking FSMT to create the level 1 and 2 folders, only to migrate the "MIGRATION_TEST" (level 3) folder to the already created destination folder "GROUP_TEST" (which is also a shared folder).

Has anyone experienced similar troubles that can provide some advice or a workaround? As mentioned, I have migrated 20+ file servers in the past and I don't recall this problem occurring previously. Appreciate any helpful words of advice. Thank you.
