Hi
I've got an ongoing NTFS error being logged on a server and cannot bottom it out
Hardware raid 6 array, split into two volumes, both volumes periodically display the error (both are home drive locations with shadowcopy enabled), one volume is formatted at 8k and the other at 64K based on files stored on the drives (3 million and 1 million respectively)
Microsoft got me to update the NTFS driver which we did Windows6.1-KB982018-v3-x64
the hardware vendor rightly says its not a hardware fault as all diagnostics are fine
removed diskeeper as we thought that was the issue, and it has been better since
I'm not sure if its the shadow copy corrupting or a false error being generated as the errors tend to occur once a number of files are added that go way past the 256 size -- past 500 in some case (eclipse programming). chkdsk reports no issues which is why I thought it might be the shadow copy and/or false reading
all user files seem absolutely fine and no reports of errors or other symptoms
Kind regards
Matt
