Hi All.
As per a suggestion over on the Windows 7 Misc forum, I am posting this question here also.
I have a strange bug going on and it's resulting in data loss.
The best description of the setup is here: http://blogs.technet.com/b/askds/archive/2010/09/01/microsoft-s-support-statement-around-replicated-user-profile-data.aspx
Scenario 1B: DFS Namespace is configured – single link target
Using Windows 7 SP1 clients but have also seen the problem with Windows 8 clients.
Users map the H: drive using the AD attribute to a DFS path.
Redirected Folders are configured for Desktop, Favorites, Pictures and Documents.
Offline Files is enabled on the Redirected Folders using the %HOMESHARE% (limited to Laptops only).
At complete random, Users Redirected Folders are being wiped clean and we're having to restore from Backup. There seems to possibly be a common link - Remote Desktop. Everyone who has experienced this issue has been connected to another PC using Remote Desktop at the time (presumably using the same account). e.g. in one situation, a user was logged onto a Laptop and at the same time they were remotely connected to a work desktop via RDP and their redirected folders were wiped clean.
Has anyone come across this before?
Thanks
Ben
