I have a test setup using two servers. I first set this configuration up on the local network. Both servers were on the same LAN. Configured everything and DFS replication worked fine
I set up another remote network using two Netgear Business routers and created a VPN link between the two. All is good so far.
I moved the 2nd server over to the remote site, changed the static IP address to a different subnet and hooked it up to the 2nd router. I changed the server pointer record in the DNS. The VPN tunnel works fine, I can ping both servers
using their name and their IP address.
In the DFS replication on Server1 (primary) it shows that my replication groups are all good. Running a verify topology shows a fully connected state.
Server2 is connected, sees the remote network, I can ping server1 using the name and the IP address. I even copied over a file from server1 to server2 with the explorer. When I open DFS Management, it shows an X beside the replication groups.
Not sure what the solution to this is
