When trying to create a new domain based Namespace I get "The namespace cannot be queried. The RPC server is unavailable."
As you can see below - I have tried some options from other similar posts on this forum and have thus far not been able to resolve this issue yet.
Server 2008 Enterprise SP1 (This server is a DC with local DNS)
Forest Functional Level: Windows Server 2008 R2
Domain Function Level: Windows Server 2008 R2
I verified the following services are running and have stopped/restarted these services:
DFS Namespace Service
RPC Service
All local firewalls are disabled
IPv4 only - (Not using IPv6)
NSLookup resolves OK to the hostname and IP
Note: there are NO entrys in the registry for the DFS Namespace at the following location:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Dfs\Roots\Domain\PublicNS
Only the following path - with no subfolders
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Dfs
DNS Forward and Reverse lookups are correct with correct Host(A) and PTR records.
Any ideas on what I can try for a resolution?
