I have a Windows 2008 R1 Server that had issues with copying large 6-50GB file either across network or even between internal disks
I installed the DynCache service for 2008 R1 and that seems to resolve the issue. I have now upgraded the server to Windows 2008 R2 and got hold of the new Dyncache R2 service to resolve the issue that returned since the upgrade. The new Dyncache service is set for Mincahe of 64 and maxcache of 512 or 256 but it does not seem to stop there and MapFiles still comsume all available RAM until the server is really slow again.
Is the new Dyncache R2 version really working ???
Why can't we set a max HARD limit on the file system which is killing the performance?
