File Server - Administration

Hello Guys,

Today i have a question about administration, not a technical question.

In my enterprise, i´m a new guy (1 year ago), and my function is administering the File Server.

Our file server, have 10 logical disks with various sizes. This file server was migrated from 2003, with many quotas, and now i have to find the way to organize and maintain the file server ok.

So, i tried to find a way to count the quotas provisioning and compare with my disk size. I can do this? With a script, tools, software, FRSM?

Example:

I have the drive C:

In the drive, i have the folder C:\Temp and C:\Temp\Files

In C:\Temp, my quota is 2gb.

In C:\Temp\Files the quota is 1GB.

If i Sum this quotas i have 3gb, but is wrong, because the "root" quota is 2GB.

How can i sum the quotas and include this exception to calculate the total quotas and compare to total disk size?

Can i create a report with the Monthly Growing Up Disk Size? Per folder or per disk?

How is the best way to administering and automate my file server?

Can you help me with this questions? I lost on how to start the administering, because the file server is big.

Thank you so much.

Regards,

Daniel Lucas.
