Hi,
I currently have user shares on a standalone NAS server.
I want to move the user shares to DFS. I want to create a new DFS root, say, "users$" and move the user shares under the new root.
I think I'd need to create a new folder called "users$" that would be referenced when I create the new namesspace. I am not sure wht share and ntfs permissions that I need on the new "users$" folder and individual users folders. I don't mind the users being able to see the names of the other user folders under the "users$" folder, but they should not be able to see anything in there or modify anything outside their own area. Could someone help m with how to set the right share/ntfs permissions please?
regards
Dave
