So, using the nomenclature in http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc732863(v=ws.10).aspx my question is.
In the DFS Management snap-in you can't set any view permissions on a Folder (ie a dfs-folder that lacks a target) like you can on a folder with targets. Is there an official supported way to do this?
My first instinct is to change the NTFS-permissions on the Folder on one namespace server. But we use domain based dfs and have two dfs namespace servers. Will manually set permissions on a non-target Folder replicate to the other namespace server?
I read somewhere I can't find right now that setting permissions on a Folder manually on a namespace server will reset when you reboot the server. Is that so?
What I want to accomplish is for Access Based Enumeration to hide non-target Folders the same way it does with target Folders.
