I have a lot of XP clients. Their desktops are redirected. When they attempt to work offline they cannot access the files. There are several USERINIT 1000 erros in the log files of the clients saying they cannot access a domain controller and the network is not available. I am not sure if this is why the offline files do not work, but it does seem as if the XP clients do not realize they are offline and keep trying to access the server paths instead of the offline cache locally.
.
The clients are located in a remote site connected to the main location via 1GB fiber WAN. The main site houses all the domain controllers and file servers. Perhaps this problem is related to this somehow?
.
Any thoughts on why the XP clients keep trying the network path when disconnected instead of accessing the local offline file scache ? I have verified the files are in sync locally, and the cache is there. Offline files is configured correctly. Windows 7 laptops on the network in the same site with the same GPOs do not have this issue. Only XP clients. SP3. All updates.
