Strange iSCSI behaviour

Hello,

I am currently tesing MS iSCSI Target 3.3 on server 2008 r2 with MS iSCSI Initiators on Server 2008 r2.

On the Storage Server i have 2 RAIDs (buildin SATA, and external for SAS) and i tested their performance with Iometer (with the same settings all the time).

Results with Iometer runned from the storage server:

Disk1 on RAID1 (4xSATA Disks in RAID10) ~ 300 IOps

Disk2 on RAID2 (2xSAS Disks in RAID1) ~ 550 IOps

Results with Iometer runned from other server on the same disks via iSCSI network

Disk1 ~ 75 IOps <- this is very strange, and i cannot figure why?

Disk2 ~ 490 IOps <- this look like to be normal

In such case i think that the problem is not in the iSCSI Network , because the disk2 that are on SAS RAID don`t have such perf. degradetion.

My questin is why disk1 that is on SATA RAID have such performance degradation over iSCSI network?
