I have been trying to setup DFS and DFSR on a pair of servers both running windows storage server 2003 R2. These connect to an SBS 2003 R2 domain.
All goes well, the domain based namespaces setup correctly, as do the replication groups, and everything works perfectly. But after about 2 days, they stop working and have to be restarted. Once this is done, rinse and repeat! all good for a few days then all stop. From DFS Manager the namespaces get a red cross, and the rep groups dissappear.
None of the other servers drop off the domain like this and as far as I can tell DNS is working correctly (I did re install the DNS server on the DC just in case, no difference). Network conectivity never gets interupted, with both network ports paired, and I have tried it with them unpaired 1 disabled. SQL server running on the first of this pair works all the time.
I have searched endlessly for solutions from many many different sources, but none of them work for me on these servers so am at a loss now!
The servers are both HP DL380 G5. 4Gb Ram, plenty of space on system drive & data drives.
Various event log message show:
Error 1053 userenv: Windows cannot determine the user or computer name. (Not enough storage is available to complete this operation. ). Group Policy processing aborted.
Error 1024 DFSR : The DFS Replication service failed to contact domain controller to access configuration information. The service will continue to replicate using previously downloaded configuration and will try again during the next configuration polling cycle, which will occur in 60 minutes. This event can be caused by TCP/IP connectivity, firewall, Active Directory, or DNS issues.
Error 5719 NETLOGON : This computer was not able to set up a secure session with a domain controller in domain WEALDENAD due to the following:
Not enough storage is available to process this command.
This may lead to authentication problems. Make sure that this computer is connected to the network.
Any suggestions as to where to go from here? Is there any other info that is needed from the servers/DC to progress?
Thanks
Paul
