Hi everybody.
I have a Windows Server 2012 Std and two roles DFS + Deduplication. Disk K used for users files = 5.4 Tb.
Domain users can successfully work with dfs shares (all works good). Also there is deduplication working on disk K (older 30 days background optimization).
I couple days ago we find out what free space is running out on disk K.
Disk Kcapacity= 5.4 Tb
System Volume Information = 4.8 Tb
- Dedup - ChunkStore = 2.4 Tb
- DFSR = 2.0 Tb
Users Dates = 2.4 Tb
Free = 300 Gb
So I stop DFS Replication service it cause to free 200 Gb. Also Shadow Copies on disk K weight aprox 100 Gb.
Also I try Start-DedupJob k: -Type GarbageCollection -full and it cause a very slow free space groving. One and a half hour later it is free up to 1.3 Tb and stop.
After that I swith off deduplication on disk K. Some time ago I use DFS Replication Group to move files from old file server to new file server.
My problem is right now = > I have a 2.4 Tb on ChunkStore (and I
switch OFF Deduplication on disk K) + I have a 2 Tb on DFSR folder (and I already delete all replication group). How I can safely clean up them?
