Hi,
I recently inherited a server with a 12TB software RAID-5. I've always dealt with hardware raids so I'm kind of out of my element on this one.
There are 2 discs with errors and the volume says that redundancy is failed. The volume has 8 x 2TB disks total. My question is, will it be possible to replace one of the disks, rebuild the array, then replace the other, and rebuild again? My guess is no as there are 2 disks with issue, so I'm probably going to have to rebuild the whole thing. HOPEFULLY I'm wrong though. Could someone also help me with the procedure for replacing the drives? I’m pretty sure it’s not just a matter of swapping them out as with hardware raid controllers..).
Any advice is really appreciated!
