hi everyone,
We have a windows storage server 2008 with 4 NICs working on a LACP team and connected to a 3com switch 4200G. Users connect to it from another subnet through a Cisco ASA 5520 firewall. One of the users is working with large image files (like 100 or 200 MB) and design programs photoshop, indesign and others. She reported errors in the network with lost of information, and in some cases unrecoverable files.
I have checked the event viewer in the server and found some eventID 2012 in it:"While transmitting or receiving data, the server encountered a network error. Occassional errors are expected, but large amounts of these indicate a possible error in your network configuration. The error status code is contained within the returned data (formatted as Words) and may point you towards the problem."
No other server in the same subnet is experiencing this failure.
The antivirus in the server is McAfee Viruscan enterprise 2008 + Antispyware enterprise 8.8 , the server has shadow copies activated and running every two hours.
Which do you think could be source of the problem? I think eventID 2012 and network error user is reporteing are related, do you think so? How should I proceed to fix the problem up?
Thank you very much.
best regards.
David.
