I have a Snap NAS appliance that is running out of space. I inherited it from the previous admin and I don't think it was the right solution. Anyway, it's time to go; it's running Windows services so it has AD file sharing and permissions. I can't remember the last time I had to actually move the full contents of a device to another. So, I'm a bit rusty and am looking for some guidance. I don't think the Microsoft File Server Migration Toolkit will work since the NAS is not really a Windows server and I have not actually ever used it.
The question is: how do I move all the data along with the shares and permissions staying in place with the least amount of user impact. Any guidance is greatly appreciated. You can reply to my work email address djaquez at heihotels.com. Thank you in advance.
