Good evening,
we're running an EMC SAN recently upgraded to SW version that supports SMB 3.0 by default. When I use my new Server 2012 Datacenter to connect to a share on the VNXe, then attempt to put a VM vhd on it, it fails. My thought was an SMB issue. I think I'm right - doing get-SmbConnection on the server returns dialect: 1.5.
Wait - what? 1.5? that's not a SMB version that I'm aware of.
Screen shot:
does this mean that one side of the connection isn't negotiating properly? Looking online hasn't turned up anything, and I'm not the SAN admin so I have limited access to EMC support.
Thanks for any suggestions. For what it's worth, I can set up a file share on a 2012 server and repeat this process on my HyperV server, run the get-smbconnection command and return dialect 3.0.
