Windows 7 and XP clients. Existing server is 2003 R2. Folder redirection is working well. We're replacing the file server with 2012. How do I change folder redirection to point to shares on the new server? From what I've read I'm thinking I should:
Create or change the GPO.
With both the new and old share available, log the user in and the data will get copied to the new share at logon.
If this is correct, my question is if the high level folder needs to be created? In other words, if the user is sjones, do I need to create \\newserver\users\sjones if the gpo points to \\newserver\users or does sjones need to have access to \\newserver\users?
